10 years of pain since MH17 flight disaster
Families mark decade since plane was shot down in Ukraine
All 298 people on board were killed
A decade ago, a Malaysia Airlines plane was shot out of the sky and crashed in eastern Ukraine, killing everyone on board.
The Boeing 777 was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur when it was hit by a missile over the conflict-hit region of Donetsk.
All 298 people on board, including 196 Dutch citizens, were killed.
The disaster was the deadliest aviation incident involving a Malaysian Airlines aircraft.
An international investigation concluded that the plane was shot down by a Russian-made Buk missile fired from territory controlled by pro-Russian separatists.
Russia has denied any involvement in the downing of the plane.
Families of the victims have been campaigning for justice for their loved ones ever since the disaster.
In 2019, a Dutch court found three Russians and a Ukrainian guilty of murder for their role in the downing of the plane.
The four men are currently serving life sentences in absentia.
The families of the victims have said that they will never give up fighting for justice.
"We will not rest until the truth is known and those responsible are held accountable," said Piet Ploeg, the chairman of the MH17 Disaster Foundation.
